An idea whose time has come.
Some ventures are built on strategy. This one was built on honesty, legacy, and a touch of divine blessings.
An astrology company that sells gems — not a jeweller.
It began with a father and a son.
G. Vijay Kumar — known to his clients as the Honest Astrologer — grew up inside the trade, raised under his father, Sh. Vijay Kumar Ji.
Astrology and gemmology were not subjects he studied; they were the language of the house. Which planet a stone answers to, which stone will truly work for a person, and — just as importantly — which one won't: this was passed from father to son over a lifetime.
In time he built a trusted astrology practice of his own, and would occasionally source genuine stones for the few clients who needed the real thing, correctly chosen.
The idea that refused to die.
In 2018–19 he had the name — Honest Gems — but honestgems.com was already taken. The idea was shelved. Some ideas, though, refuse to die.
Years later, on a pilgrimage to Khatu Shyamji, his friend Mr. Pravesh — a chartered accountant — urged him to try again. They checked the domain on the spot. This time, it was available.
He read it the only way an astrologer could: as a blessing, arriving exactly when it was meant to. He booked it that day.
The right partner at the right time.
Mr. Saurabh Khatri — a CA finalist and, by his own admission, a Shani-heavy perfectionist — took on the full running of the business.
With operations in steady hands, G. Vijay Kumar returned to what he does best: quality assurance and the personal relationships that have always defined the brand. Every stone is still chosen the old way — by someone who knows.
Owned and operated by Saurabh Khatri, guided by the Honest Astrologer, and blessed by Khatu Shyam Ji.
